Parents Don't Remember My Face

I havent seen my mom since the day before i left for holidays more than a month ago. i saw my dad about two weeks ago. i dont visit my home very often because i dont know who to visit. my mum, i will just fight with. id go to visit my dad but he doesnt hold a conversation with, even when i invade his study room of privacy. i go there to eat, collect my things, drop off some things. my sister visited recently. my parents went to Myer and saw a girl there with a 'spitting image' of me except without the nose ring. They called out my name to her, they approached her and continued to call her 'Jenny' but the girl, WHO WAS NOT ME, just shook her head. Poor thing, being approached by delusional parents thinking she was their daughter. I think my parents have forgotten what I look like.

2nd Hand Loving

Because we cant all be virgins

I offered to drive Ate to Elsternwick. Big step for nervous driver like me. I was driving Ate's car which is different size and handling than my car. It was raining as well. I thought I was quite brave.

I almost got into an accident. Missed the car in front by a centimeter because I swerved like crazy. My fault. It's okay. No one died.

Vista Laser Eye Clinic, Elsternwick
They had a Nespresso machine. Me and ate sure made use of that. After Ate intiated the coffee making, everyone else followed one by one. Everyone else is too shy. Pfft. If its there, its meant to be used. I had a hot chocolate. It was so good. Frothed milk makes a massive difference. 12 hours later and I'm still thinking about it.

Savers, Footscray
Oh yeah op shopping how I've missed your smell! I spent $80 here (after a 5% discount because I made a donation). I bought:
  • Navy Blue Woolen Varsity Hooded Jacket  (will compliment my blonde hair)
  • Green thick wooly jumper (will compliment my blonde hair)
  • Slim black metallic 90's ankle length dress  (will compliment my blonde hair)
  • Strange shirt collar  (will compliment my blonde hair)

Savers

When I tried on all my clothes, I would ask myself 'would this look good with blonde hair?' If yes, I buy. haha

Home, Kealba
Lunch is the last of my pasta bake

Bank West and Australia Post, Watergardens
Nothing interesting here.

Dry Cleaners, Caroline Springs
Dropped off my newly purchased varsity jacket to blast away those germs

Brotherhood of St. Lawrence, Burnside
It hit me, I'm into the 90's fashion. It used to be all about the 80's but more and more I'm pulling out 90's gear. Here I bought a black mini skirt with an invisible zip and a small triangular slit on the thigh.

Salvos, Burnside
This is the third op shop today. Going through everyones pre-loved shit is depressing because all I think about is waste waste waste. We are so wasteful!! There is no way all this shit will move, I see clothes that I seen months and months ago, its still here. And people are going out buying brand new clothes, which in turn encourages the industry to keep making, producing which then gives us the option to throw away our clothes for the sake of buying new ones. some of these clothes still have tags on them. Vicious cycles. I thought they only existed in the form of love triangles and running back to a shit lover. It makes me angry. People need to travel to the Philippines and see how lucky we got it here.

although in saying that, most of the clothes at the op shops are the cheap brands that produce clothes with a timestamp e.g. 'trendy' clothes. These brands include
  • Cotton On
  • Supre
  • CK Morgan, DK, Sunny Girl or similar asian brands
  • Target, Kmart or similar department store brands
which makes me think its better to pay a bit more for quality and timeless fashion that wont have u throwing away and buying from them again. I know you do it because its cheap and good for a short term but comon, vicious cycle. Get outa it.

I bought this really cool black thick stretch dress. It was tagged as size 12 but when i fit it it was perfect.  I like things that are made in other places besides Asia. This one was made in Australia. Represent. Again, it was 90s in style. Slim, sleeveless. High floppy collar with one side higher than the other. This reflected on the hem where one side was higher than the other. Damn this dress is hot.

One of a kind

Home, Kealba
Printed my holiday documents. Sumpai.

Home, Taylors Hill
I was so hungry. Mum cooked fried chicken. I ate about 5 pieces with two serves to rice. I get full easy when I binge eat. I ate til I was about to pop and when the rice ran out I just ate the chicken. And then I ate Salt and Vinegar Pringles, Shapes and drank a cup of tea. Ahhhhhhh.. I'm fat :D

FILIPPINO CANDY!!!!!

Me and Ate rock our Jordons

Interesting basket bag with black/yellow/white ribbon weaving
Metal chain weaved with nude paten ribbon.
I didnt buy it though

What an interesting dress! So 80's. Did you know this is tagged as a size 8??
How baggy is this dress?? I love it from the armpits up.
I digging this pattern metallic teal fabric.

How clever. How precious

I go through my old wardrobe and pull out some winter shit for this changing weather.
I remember this jacket. I used to wear it when I was a kid but now it fits me a bit better,
even though it is still massively oversized.

I want this on me.

Recently

Monday - Friday:
Working to collecting my riches and millions. Worked at Spencer Street and bumped into my younger god sister who once was innocent and now is all tight clothing, no underwear, long bleached hair, tatted up and manager of YD. Visited Phuong who also works at Spencer and bought a cute $44 black italian leather triangular back pack that can be carried in multiple ways.

I decided on Sunday that if my work allows it, I will go on holiday with Helen, Dave and friends in May to Korea, Taiwan, HK and Macau. I finally worked up the courage to ask my manager after five days. When i got the okay i immediately msged dave and helen.. IM GONNA BOOK MY TICKETS TONIGHT MF!

Helen ended up booking me the tickets the next day, Saturday. Flights and accomo all up less than $2K and I've allowed $2K spending money. I dont like setting spending limits when I'm on holiday because I want to live comfortably and feel like I'm on holiday so $2K spending is not all that I have. I like to let myself go crazy.

Tickets booked

I worked at Jwow 9pm - 2pm and did my shift 100% sober bc we were under the watchful eye of Michael's spies.

Saturday:
woke up at 840am cursing because I didnt get to sleep til 1pm on my first day off of the week. We had to meet Sheila at MC at 10am because we were scheduled for a 1030am melbourne tourist tour starting from Fed Square. Tour went for 2.5hrs and we walked from Flinders to the Yarra to State Library to Carlton Gardens. It was a shit day, gloomy, cloud, drizzling, puddles a little wind but at least it wasnt cold and I was wearing my timbs. It was a timbs day. We each had our umbrellas. For once, I appreciated this shit weather. It was kinda nice walking around melbourne, learning about aboriginal and settlement history in the light rain.. I really enjoyed it. and the tour was FREE!

We had brunch at this little cute cafe on lt bourke in between queen and elizabeth that did all day breakfast. The frontier of the shop is completely opened so you can feel the weather outside on the inside and watch the people as they passed. the place is kooky, walls decorated with twisting poison ivy and tables decorated with pot plants. I like it there. Bushwa and Hooey - cute name.

We took sheila to the bank to settle her bank issues, then to RMIT so she can see her future school. We also visited Myer and I avoided familiar faces. DAMN their sales are good. $10 shoes!! Plus my discount ;) I bought some stockings because shit was 65%. four stockings for $23. We went to MC and got our hair cuts. I went shorter at the back and damn i love short hair.

Why I love short hair:
  • Less maintenance, less money spend on products, easier to dry and wash
  • Less precious with hair, I feel like I can go crazy with cuts and colour
  • Good for summer
  • I like scrunching up my hair for that messy look and putting it over my face

I also got my concession card done. YES!

Before

After

We went home and Ate made us soup. I fell asleep on the couch with my blanket and woke up to Areo chocolates. Working hard Mon-Fri makes you appreciate the little things in life like warm soup on a winter's night and falling asleep in front of the TV. WTF have I become??

Dinner with my blanket

Only slept for 30minutes but I was surprisingly refreshed and ready to fist pump. I drop sheila off at mums house so she can sleep in a bed, fill up and drove to the city by myself for the first time to meet up with Drunk Dave who at first was pissing me off because he was drunk and I was sober. I told him to sober up and get on my level, please. We went to Ondergrounds to drink water and talk. Then to Noodle Kingdom to get the first fried pork dumplings of the year then to Ballarat Road, Footscray Maccas for seriously, the BEST big mac burger ive ever tasted but served by the most depressed staff. This burger was certainly facebook status worthy.

I got me a mad parking on Lt. Lonsdale Street.

Sunday:
Got home at 4am. Got to wake up at 1130am today. I wanted one more hour sleep. Needed to go to Mum's birthday lunch at Watergardens Hotel all you can eat buffet. I dont like all you can eat buffet because I can only eat one plate.. unless I practice my old technique of vomiting my first plate and then going back for more. But that would still mean I only eat two plates. Plus the food there aint that flash.

I go home and change into something more comfortable. I contemplate getting a belly piercing. One hour later I am hungry again so we go to st. albans for some spring rolls and chinese tea.

Today is 26 degrees. Summer
Yesterday was Winter.

2nd Storey Doors to the outside need no platforms.

I am excited for life right now.
Cancel suicide plans.

NYE MFKR

Me, I, The Master Manipulator.
Here's me trying to get Joe to come to a house party. Me: im in cairnlea. if u know where that is Joe: where abouts and what sort of people? Me: if u down to come to the west
and get stabbed gangsters bring ur shank we do NYE shank fights Joe: as long as its a one handed one where you tie the left hands toeghter otherwise there boring. Me: we tie the shanks to our feet, hands bound like a cock fight
Despite my disliking to it, it doesnt take me long to pack. Ive thrown everything into my bag when I'd usually fold everything and place them strategically. Towels to line the bottom and sides, fragiles in the centre wrapped in jumpers.. I did however, zip lock my toiletries and liquids incase any fucker wants to burst and ruin all the clothes I have. Ive taken ugly undies, socks and clothes that I could bare to part with in case of a luggage lack of space emergencies. I've roughly got everything I need. I'd like to have more songs on my laptop but transfering songs from one computer to the other and then onto my ipod is such a bitch. I'll regret it later you watch.
I did sheesha last night with my favourite cousins, first time in a long while that we hung out as a family. I miss it. Funny times. We are only funny if we have each other. They truly are my favourite cousins. Helen and I forced dave to come do a kebab run, even if he didnt want a kebab. He said he would meet us there in his car. Wink. Helen said it was cool beacuse I was riding with him. Doaaahh! he says. He says he's got plans, friends to meet, times to stick to, somewhere to be. Okay Dave, I understand, but first we have to do a kebab run, now follow Helen's car. No, I'm going to the beach now, I'm taking you with me. No Dave, don't let us down, do it for the cousinship. Doaaahh!
So we had a kebab. We were there only 12 hours before at 2am, except the line was longer and the kebabs werent as good.
Tonight, being NYE, its unorganised. Theres many things going on at different places but I need to consider how the fuck I'm getting to the airport tmrw and also consider at what point I wanna get fucked up. I wanna go all out, I wish I had someone to tap me on the shoulder and say:
'Miss Jennifer. You're limousine is here to take you to the airport. It's time to catch your flight'
Why thank you Albert.
Mum sent me a msg today. I swear she only contacts me when she wants to piss me off.
'Don't wear your nose ring and your four piercing in one ear. It's revolting. People will call you names. Btw, do you want a lift to the airport?'
You look disgusting, oh and would you like me to take you to the airport tmrw? Fuck that, I'd rather crawl. I never really thought about how much we'd fight overseas. I just thought it would be awkward and all Id have to do is ignore her just like I've done for the past year. But this msg is a taste of the bitterness to come. We are going to fight like no tomorrow. I am going to get so angry I will cry and want to punch on with her. She will say horrible things in front of my estranged foreign family who will watch us argue like a tennis match. The fight will escalate from my nose piercing to other things... I will most likely swear and bring out the big guns saying shit like:
No one loves you. None of your children, not even papa.
We all hate you.
I hate you.
I hate your guts and wish I didn't have to deal with you as much as I did, despite how little I do.
You make me so angry I swear I could bash you.
You're a heartless bitch.
You're everything I hope NOT to be when I grow old and fat and ugly.
But thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
Ohhhhh the things I'd love to say. And look like the bad guy in the process. which is everything that I DONT want. Mum has this fucked up way of turning herself into the good guy and ME the INNOCENT guy into the bad guy. Oh what a bad daughter, listen to the things she's saying to her mum. Poor mum, look shes crying.
Oh the things I had to do for her when she was a baby
I was a good mum, I am a good mum
These kids are so ungrateful
I suffered so much...
Well I'm glad she's crying. I'm glad I have that effect on her. I can die with a smile on my face. And damn her if she gives my eulogy. She doesn't know anything about me.
So much anger. I can type and type with this anger as my fuel. Sometimes I think about the bad things I say or imagine doing to her. I think, if she were to die tmrw, would I regret it?? Most times yes, because you have different feelings when you are angry and you take them back when you are sober. but I can honestly say, I really dont know if I'll regret it. I dont regret telling the truth. And frankly, if you don't see that mum's the bad guy, and you see ME as the bad guy then fuck you. I dont need anyone on my side because its me against the world.
I havent replied to that msg to signal rejection but perhaps that isnt a strong enough signal. Perhaps I should reply to give her a taste of the weeks to come.
'Do you think I care????'
I'm gonna fight back and embarass you infront of your family just as you do me. And my english is better than yours.
Winning.
Not an ideal start to the year

Breathe 2, 3, 4

They say if you have nothing nice to say then dont say it at all. Well fuck that because thats not what mum taught me, that hypocrite. Mum's a fucking bitch. I stopped by Taylors Hill to pick up a suit case and found my room even more of her dumping ground. Shit all on my floor, on my bed under my bed, on my table, MY SHIT MOVED. The only reason why I go back home is because my room is the way it is. Vman asked me why I was so angry, I told him but I yelled so much I gave myself a sore throat. I msgd my mum.
'Get your shit outta my room.
I couldn't even sleep there if I wanted to!
Use Ate's room!'
If you have nothing nice to say then don't say it at all?? Fuck that. I wish she was here so I could fight her! I can't stop frowning!!!! ARGHHH#$@#$!!

We Never Lost Control

I have hit a personal record. Most shoe boxes in the boot of my car: 7. Carrying them out felt like I was working at D. Most shoe purchases in one go: 4. I bought another pair the next day.

Shoes of recent

I spent $197 on four pairs of shoes today at Myer. I went to Savers and redeemed at $30 credit note. I got a crazy shirt, a white cotton collared sleeveless shirt very similar to the one I bought previously, a metallic gold and black knit cardi, a 90's black cool bag.

Seeing my donations on the racks of Savers
Wow, $3.99? C'mon, it's worth more than that

Purchases today

Then I went highpoint to hunt down the shoes I was dying for at Myer Melbourne yesterday.. Except Myer highpoint didnt have it either. I bought four other shoes. It started with one pair. Oh these would be good for work, Windsor Smith are good quality, comfortable and relatively cheap shoes.. I pay for quality.. and they were 50% + 5% off = $38. Hey.. I kinda like these, I can wear these at my other work tmrw. They are also Windsor Smith and the customer yesterday talked bout how good they are.. try them on in my size... perfect fit. Practical, comfortable AND fashionable. Bonus! Ouch but they are $100. Hang on, buy one full priced item and get the 2nd one 50% off?? Should I?

I tried on these Miss Shop shoes on for fun. They are comfy. They looked good with what I was wearing. They are light weight and ohhh... they look so good. I can wear them right now. A random lady with a pram comes up and tells me they look good.

Should I???? Yes I should. I neglected my sneakers and wore these babies straight away.
So thats three pairs. And what ever I buy, mum goes and buys the same thing. If I buy a bronze blush, she changes her mind from the nutmeg to the bronze. If i try on that shoe and decide to buy it, guess what? She will too. She wants to be me. I understand the effect I have on people.

I bought a skirt that I had been eyeing, down to $6. I bought Mel one too since she is leaving for Hong Kong tmrw forever with her new boyfriend Marty. How romantic. I also bought em lollies from a brand new botique store in Highpoint. They sold chocolates, lollypops and gummy looking things in corked glass test tube containers of all sizes. The labels and signage were PUNY! The place was called 'Happy Lab'. The mature men behind the counter wore glasses and white scientist coats. Someone who looked like the manager was instructing the asian guy of product placement, ticking things off his wooden clip board.

'Hello. Welcome to the Happy Lab'

I bought somethings. Mum walks in, umimpressed at this impractical fancy fluff of beautiful packaging. She says abruptly:

'So where are these things made, in china???'

Oh mum. You are all things graceful and elegant. Everyone in the store looks over at her. The manager looks over to see what the sales attendant says. He tells mum quietly, yes.

Lollies from Happy Lab

We met a nice mature lady at Gold Mark. They were having a 50% off everything sale. Mum tells every jewellery lady how she is dying to buy me a diamond ring with matching diamond earrings. She's been wanting to buy me this since I was little however, I have no interest in such precious rocks. Mum tells the lady I needed a graduation present. Mum gets the lady to pull out slightly different versions of extravagant bling, which I shake my head at. The lady asks me:

What do you like??

I show her the rings on my finger. A standard sterling silver handcrafted 'basket weave' ring from India and my fashion silver 'fang' two finger ring from Dangerfield. These I like. She tells me she used to be the same. Mum tells me off for showing interest in buying a nose ring.

Look! Your nose is infected. Its red.
No its not
Go to the doctors and buy killoide (?) cream, the lady says
It's not infected. It's fine
You remind me of my 16 year old daughter

And if im not mistaken, she said that with fondness. I was at the counter paying for my nose rings. She saw mum, eyes still lingering over the diamond rings. The sales lady said:

Lady: Tell you a secret. Choose the ring you want before your mum chooses one you dont like'
Me: It doesnt matter. She'll end up wearing it then
Lady: Just choose one, you'll appreciate it when you grow up. Let's choose one now.
Mum: So, do you like any?
Me: Nuh.

We leave. The lady mouths to me the words 'good luck'.

I went home and tried to shove this ring in thinking 6months of leaving my nose alone, this change over would be nice and easy. How wrong I was. Taking out my stud was a mission but I managed to do it without bleeding. But putting the ring it made it bleed and it wouldnt go through!!!! I shoved, and shoved but didnt want to tear too much or else the hole will close. I needed tissue to wipe up fresh blood. I was trying gently to put this in. Please dont close, please dont close, you are a bitch to get. I had visions of me in the Surfers Paradise public toilets. I was doing this the same time 18 months ago. I stopped with the ring and use my original stud, at least I know this one fits. I put it back without much more blood. Thank god you went back in. But that means no touching it for another few months until you fully heal! Ugh! Why do you have to be so difficult?!?

I played witih my rabbit today. It's so cute and fluffy. I hug it like I would a teddy bear and gently swing it side to side. I let it play amongst my new purchases and empty shoe boxes. I create obstacles for it to hide, climb and slide on. Towards the end of our play date I had her on my chest, I could fall asleep like that. The moment would have only been ruined if she pee'd on me. Which didnt happen thank you, maybe you really are toilet trained?

Work tmrw 12 -5pm. It's my first shift. Going in to pop my cherry. Hope it feels good. I'll probably walk out with another pair of shoes.

GABOS

Mum is the unemotional type. Infact my whole family is the unemotional type. Mum talks about death like its nothing.

'Oh did you know Tito Manny died?'

Tito Manny? My bro's ninong who lived across the street from us in Kealba whom we've known all our lives, yes??? How did he die? When?

'Sunday 2am. Cancer of the colen, blood transfusion, general weakness of the body, starvation. Oh and
David Murray died too.'

Why?? When??

'Saturday 2pm. He was getting old and he didnt want to eat.

He starved himself?

Old people don't like eating.'

Mum works in a nursing home. She is surrounded by death, disease and heart break. Nothing can hurt her. So its an accomplishment when I do, if I do... I dont know if i have yet.

Being unemotional has its ups. I heard that emotion is a sign of weakness. gangstas dont show weakness.

GABOS.

From now since my last post I have been sketching feathers. I want this tattooed on me. I drew it on my inner fore arm and it looks good there. I also drew it on my bicep. It looks good there too but the pain of the tattoo will hurt too much. My original plan was to have it on my upper left shoulder, the feather starting from the bottom of my neck and ending near the start of my armpit. the feather will flow with my shoulder curve. I have yet to decide on the fill, line fill, light shading, dark shading, something realistic or cartoon?

Mum's gonna kill me. She hasnt seen my newly pierced ears. Perhaps she will tmrw.

Whenever I open up my Taylors Hill fridge I expect a site of glorious foods. Today there was salami. Mum knows how much I love that shit. She bought like 1 kg of it. I shoved about 50 grams in my mouth. Midnight binge eating. Wash it down with some black tea so I wont have to brush my teeth, bcoz drinking tea eliminates the need for brushing. Didnt you know?

I had Oriental Spoon dinner with Aaron today. We ate chicken but I only got through three pieces before I got a stomach ache. My empty tummy wasnt used to so much food at one time, something so oily too. Aaron's in a bad state so I shouted him to make him feel loved.

'Thanks chicken"

Make It Work

It's been 4 weeks since I've been behind a real bar. I was so happy to be working at Jwow again. After doing shitty jobs and being unhappy, i realise how important a job like jwow is to me. Working at jwow doesnt feel like work at all, I work with my bestest friends, I get to wear what ever I want including sneakers, I get to work with alcohol and meet some crazy people.
I'm also allowed to drink. hehe
$13 worth of tips each because we use change plates :) New guy at work today, his name is Alex.
The New Bar
Taking a break
Memorable Moments of 17.09.11
Vman's on his way to pick me up after work.
Yao: My boyfriend's picking me up. He's just behind that truck there. How are you getting home huh?? HUH??
Me: The TRUCK!
Marc creeps up behind me and james and hugs us both
Me: Oh, I was 'what the fuck' because I didn't know who you were
Marc: Its okay, its not like im some.. some kind of 'Ubing Monster'
Hero guy takes the broom off one of us and violently sweeps the floor. I get annoyed and snatch it from him.
Hero: You've probably seen me around Jwow a few times
Me: Never seen you before in my life, mate.
___________
FRiday was the opening night of Jwow. I didnt work because I ws still recovering from my 3 day fever syndrome. When I walked in, this familiar feeling of being home in the city came to me. I was so happy and excited to be here. I was smiling, to no one in particular. Weee weee. Every second person I said hi to and I did an excited hug saying "I'm so happy we're opened! I'm so happy to see everyone here!". People who I dont normally hug where a bit 'wth' about it.
I hung out with Drunk James, Lonely Andrew and then later Mexican Aaron. Every time Andrew or I ordered a drink, we did a shot. Vman was worried about me because I was drinking too much too soon with this fever of mine. I told him I was better now.
The next morning I woke up with either a hang over or more of the fever. I called in sick at Myer. I think I went overboard with the shots.
____________
Friday is also the day when I bought a rabbit. A white fluffy, red eyed, female lop earred 5 weeks old baby wabbit. It's timid and scared. I scoop it up in one hand and hold it to my chest. I talk to it like I was talking to a human baby. I tell it I would take good care of it. Ate was annoyed because I hadn't asked her if I could bring one home. She asked why didnt I tell her?? She wasn't impressed when I replied 'Surprise!!'
The rabbit's name is Pokeball. She was one out of 3 rabbits and I chose her because when the keeper held her on her back she looked so cute. Just like a Pokeball.
She's a snowball of angel fluff with ears sticking out.
I let her run around my room and hope she doesnt piss or shit everywhere, or anywhere.

Day 30 A New Attitude

Today I took my mum out on a spin in the ole Camry. I spent the night at the parent's house because I didnt want to be waken up by the builders who were renovating our Kealba bathroom. I was treated like a guest here. Mum even went up stairs to tell my brother off for making such a racket.
"Anio!! Be quiet!!
Jenny is sleeping in the next room and you're going to wake her up!!"
I woke up to this at 12:20pm. I ate the breakfast she had made me and my brother; mushroom omelette and watery butternut pumpkin soup which I drank out of my Astro Boy mug. I saw my brother for the first time in 2 weeks. He still dressed like a muzza. I proposed to my mum that we go DFO Essendon.
"Do you know how to drive there??"
"Yes!" Obviously.
The air of confidence around me when I am with mum. I have to prove to her that I'm not a little kid anymore, I am a capable adult. I bet she sat in the passengers seat with controlled awe as I merged onto the Calder Freeway from the Melton Highway exit. Yep. I was braver than she.
I never leave DFO Essendon empty handed and/or disappointed. I love it there. I visit my usual shops:
  1. Barkins
  2. Sunglass Shop
  3. Charcoal
  4. Tony Bianco
  5. Flockhart Street
  6. Dotti
  7. Glassons
The sales are really sales here. I spent about $95 today which got me:
  1. Navy blue chiffon singlet dress
  2. Khaki/brown elastic waist belt
  3. Black knitted oversized jumper with sequined shoulders (buy two and get the third item for free weeee!)
  4. Modal/Cotton black work pants (pleasant to touch)
  5. Hooped earrings
  6. Oversized black torn jumper/dress ($5 because it was a faulty item, the knit was coming apart but I think it looks kinda cool like that)
That averages out to be $15 per item. So good. I went home and tried them all on again. Then wore the dress + sequined jumper to the movies later.
New dress & belt
So this new attitude I have with mum. I've decided to let her be my friend. I speak to her now and I was driving her around yesterday and today. After six months of ignoring her, greasy-ing her, yelling and trying to hurt her feelings, I have decided it's time to make peace. Hopefully she has learnt her lesson to leave me alone, stop bitching about me and sticking her head into my business e.g. my rubbish bin. But as soon as she crosses that line, it will be another 6 months of fighting.
_____________
We caught the 8pm 'Conan The Barbarian' movie at Sunshine Village Cinemas. I remember when that place first opened, it was the place to be seen. Us little asian gangstas would be seen hanging around the Arnold Swartzineger (?) holding a globe statue and giggle at the site of his crotch. Food Star All You Can Eat buffet was packed and it wasn't all reheated oven food like it is now. The laser lighting, like in the batman movies, that Sunshine once had and were visible from Delahey were gone due to financial costs. This place isn't what it used to be. It was kinda sad.
So the movie. I tried to save us some money by bringing my own chips and candy. Vince likes spending $15 on large popcorn and coke that we dont even finish. It kills me to think one hour of jwow work = popcorn and coke. Ouch. My standards.... But vince bought a $4 bottle of Mount Franklin.. oh and can you make that two?? So he spent $8 on two bottled waters. Ugh. Thats 30minutes of jwow work!
The movie started off OKAY... but I knew pretty much from early on it was gonna be a shit movie. A strong and interesting story line was not apparent within the first 20 minutes. I felt the casting acting of conan's dad a tad distracting and unbelievable. He played One from the City of Lost Children and I couldn't imagine him as Conan's dad. The name Conan was distracting too because its also the name of Vince's bunny labrador. When I hear the name Conan, I usually follow it with the words 'Big Doggie'.
The movie was violently graphic. Much decapitations. The bad guys didnt die any way memorable and it was a little disappointing.
What?!
All those years trying to track him down and he just falls off a cliff?!?!
I found some of the lines sexist like:
'Woman. Come here! I said come here!'
'Get off' and
'You do what I tell you to do. Go to sleep!'
The cinema was mostly full of guys, groups of tough guys. They snickered at these lines. Definitely get some complaints about it. And the fight scences, I felt they took inspiration from Lord of the Rings.
The picky movie critic that I am did not enjoy the movie. It was tolerable. I closed my eyes during the movie and my thoughts were elsewhere.

Afternoon Tea
I spoke to my mum today. She got a 'hello' when she arrived, a 'bye' when she announced her departure and a 'go awayyyyyy' when she started meddling in business that wasn't hers.
I was playing with my cousin's baby, Ysabella, today. She's the cutest, content, and playful thing of her size. She loves me because she pats my head when I'm not looking at her and sometimes tries to climb on my arms. I did this thing where I grabbed her on the lower body, she forces her head downwards so she tips out of my arm! If i didnt think fast and held her up by the chest she would have smacked her forehead into the tiles, and THEN who would've got the blame for it??? How can babies be so careless.
Aww.
It was just me, ate and anio at the end of the night... plus our partners Jack, Vman and Rhea. I was not only hanging out with Anio and Ate, but we were all TRIPLE DATING! What a first, and it wasn't awkward. It was kinda cool actually. We watched TV, Fear Factor! They were eating worms. I dry renched four times. Phuong and Josh came over a bit later and it became a Quadruple date. I've never been on a Quadruple date before.
