31 Days of Difference
Today is the start of a personal challenge; to do one thing different or new everyday. I got this idea from the current issue of Frankie magazine. The guy did things like new haircut, new book, new housemate, new car, new alcoholic drink, new diet..
The challenge and my responses to it, will reveal my outlook on life. If I find it difficult, it means I am a person who finds comfort in predictability. It means I am scared to venture or take risks. It means I am timid. I am restricted by normality and routine. My life is boring and uneventful. I don't want to be this person. I dont want to live this sad life.
If I find this challenge easy, it means I am an explorer. I am curious and learn by doing rather than taking other people's word for it. I dont want to be told what to do or think, I want to discover and experience everything myself. I want an open mind. It means I am brave and "free from everything you are not" (Fight Club).
I hope this is the case. I hope that after this challenge I will continue to do something new/different everyday for the rest of my life (ambitious?). I hope that this challenge will inspire me. I want to prove to myself that everyday is an adventure.
When you think you know it and done it all
Well, think again.
I have made the conscious decision to not plan out the 'new/different' in my days. It will be more challenging if the days are spontaneous, true to the concept of this challenge. After all, its not about experiencing the 'new', its about finding the 'new' opportunity and changing perception that everyday is the same, damn day.
Me and Phuong (and Snoop Dogg) are doing this together. We waited almost 1 month for the date 01.08.11. It's a perfect coincidence that it also lands on a Monday - the beginning of the week. A TOAST to the MONTH OF NEW!
I made this. Fetta, ricotta and silver beet pie
Vman's Celebratory Dinner @ Ghin Kao, Swanston Street.
Tasteful.
Followed by sheesha. Nothing compares to Sydney Road.
Not smoking until its Sydney Road quality.
Guess what I'm making
