Tito Nene drove me to all these places. It was a tito nene and me morning after we dropped off girl girl, zane and tita bebing at the airport in Silay. I like cruising. I enjoy looking out the window and trying to soak everything up in the time it takes to pass the scene at 80kmph (which is the fastest they roll here.
In the philippines there are no road rules other than to keep to the right lane. If and when there are lanes, you dont need to stick to them or indicate that you feel like driving in zig zags. You can rely on the driver on ur side to not head check before changing lanes so you have to beep your horn to signal you are coming up. Sometimes they dont hear you because everyone else is beeping. Sometimes the ones who dont hear you are large petrol trucks and you almost die. You can even make you're own lane on the side of the in coming traffic. If there are traffic lights or traffic officers, you dont need to follow them if you dont want to. When there is an intersection, you'll need to inch forward and forward til someone gives way for you. No one has right of way here, you MAKE your right of way if you have determination. Sometimes both drivers have as much determination as the other and you feel like you're going to crash. Someone needs to stop to avoid collision. It's a game of chicken.
You can imagine how scary driving in Philippines is. There is really no control but somehow they manage to not crash. i find that amazing. Organised kaos is a natural and amazing thing. You have to sit back in your seat and watch the other car roll towards yours and wonder if they are going to stop in time. Do it, I dare you to. Cruising around phils is a theme park ride. As a sign of respect, we always let the oldest person sit in the front seat. It's usually my mum which is a bad idea because my mum is a complete paranoid control freak who screams on impulse.
Tay Tung High School- OPEN
UNOR Primary, High School and University - OPEN
These prestige schools in Bacolod city are very strict. since mum is good a talking to much, she talks our way into these schools. We are here to visit. Mum graduated from Tay Tung Chinese School 50 years ago and taught at UNOR school 20something years ago. She's such a drainer.
