Lesson #2

Sit, stay while you walk back, hold for 5 seconds, then release word

Drop - Place treat in between front legs and gently push dog down into drop position. Let Tinkles nibble on treat as you push her down. Give her all the treat once shes down. Tell her this is Drop. Hold. Step away.  Release word and then reward. A little difficult at first. Prepare to have your fingers bitten.

Name recognition - Reward Tinkles everytime she shows recognition of her name

Recall - say come! as you walk backwards from dog, treat in your hand. Then reward Tinkles with short play. Reward for recall must be greater than any reward you give as Come is the most important of all commands and you need to be more interesting than anything else she is distracted by.

Prevent her from biting - hand feed her while touch her face/mouth/chin. Not patting, just touching.

Progress - responds better to wet/smelly treats. Drop is easier with big wet treats that she can nibble on while you hold as you will need to do this to get her to drop. Getting heaps better.

I love my baby. Nothing will ever hurt her.
